Ella Bailey Studio is an emerging interior design practice devoted to the idea of home and belonging. We design deeply personal interiors, weaving the histories, rituals and character of our clients into the architecture and setting. Our approach is rooted in a respect for what is already there, while making space for something new.

We create thoughtful spaces that feel as though they have evolved over time. Working across renovations, restorations and new construction, we consider every element. From materials, proportions and lighting to joinery and architecture, we ensure every part of the project is speaking the same language.

The studio offers a range of services from concept development to turnkey installation, working closely with clients, architects and craftspeople to realise spaces that make the new feel familiar and the everyday feel extraordinary.

Ella Bailey

Ella was born in London, raised in Dublin and came of age in Switzerland. Now settled in Sussex, her sense of home has always spanned places, but is deeply rooted in the small Adriatic town of Campofilone, where her family originates.

Growing up in Basel offered a new perspective. Introduced early to art, design and a world that felt international and quietly aspirational, Ella developed an appreciation for the way culture and creativity can shape how we see a place. Basel, with its galleries, collectors and Art Basel, taught her to notice quality, craftsmanship and the particular atmosphere of things. Here, she learned that beautiful things need not announce themselves.

After more than a decade in the corporate world, working across product design, implementation and change management, Ella honed the skills needed to take an idea and make it work in reality: how to solve a problem, bring people with you and deliver on a promise.

Studying Interior Design at Chelsea College of Arts felt less like a change of direction than a bringing together of things that had been there all along. Her interest lies where architecture, material and the rituals of an ordinary day meet and creating spaces with character, purpose and a sense of belonging.
